Absolutely wonderful! I went in terrified because of several bad experiences at nearby salons. I came out with a perfect haircut and with restored confidence. Kathe is fantastic, friendly, and has a beautiful salon. (And yes, Maggie the dog is an added treat!)

I love this place!I've been going to Kathe for many years.  Kathe is the kind of haircutter who gets it right even if your instructions are a little vague -- because she knows hair. She is extremely personable, and her prices are fair.  She is always on-time, so you don't have to wait if you have an appointment.  She is conveniently located around the corner from Sarabeth's.  And if you're lucky, Maggie the dog will be in the house!

Kathe is the ONLY hair stylist/cutter that I would ever go to, and her salon is just like her -- charming and unpretentious.  And where else could you hear the best music in the world?  You absolutely could not find a better person to cut your hair.

Kathe is an excellent stylist, and her space is calming and restoring. She listens to requests and is always up for a chat. Kathe's been cutting my hair since I was a bleached blonde with little spikes; I now sport an age-appropriate but elegant and sexy light-brown bob--she's versatile, too!

Not your typical hair salon.  Kathe has created a lovely, relaxing vibe in her charming shop where she delivers expert hair care services.  You get a very personal and professional experience.  I can't recommend her more highly!

I have been coming to Kathe Hair for a number of years .  She gives me great haircuts and color treatments.  Kathe is fun to talk to and the environment is calm and relaxing.  I never have to wait for my appointment and she is very knowledgeable about hair and products.  I wouldn't go anyplace else!

Kathe has been cutting my hair for years. I work in a business in which I constantly interact  in close contact with many people. I am often complemented on my haircut (and color). I always just tell her to do whatever she suggests!She is easy going and intelligent. She will engage in conversation as much or as little as you want.The salon is very comfortable and warm and clean. Great photos on the walls.She has a large collection of music (she is a musician herself) and she will play anything you like.Overall a wonderful way to get a great haircut

Kathe has been coloring and cutting my hair for over 20 years. She's a fantastic colorist and her haircuts always look great from day one and grow out beautifully. She keeps appointments (so be on time) and you'll get personal attention and never feel rushed. Her salon is a sunny, serene and welcoming oasis.

I first went to Kathe Hair Salon for a completed change in color, cut, look.  You know how it is every seven years: you need a new and improved look.  Kathe's cut is good for curly hair in summer and winter.  Her color was exactly what I needed:  a new look that made me look younger and better!  The salon is comfortable and I enjoy that there is no histrionics, crises, just calm music and conversation.  Also, Kathe always runs on time or very close, no waiting around to waste your time.All around, doesn't get much better.

I have been going to Kathe's salon almost since I arrived in NY in 1989.  Kathe does know hair and is an amazingly talented stylist both with cuts and coloring, including highlights and lowlights. Her work has more than matched or exceeded hair care I have received on vacation from high end Aveda, Elizabeth Arden and even Paris salons that charged a smail fortune.  When my sister-in-law visitited and needed a lift, she spend an afternoon with Kathe.  Her hair turned out so beautifully that her California colorist, who was very successful in his own right, inquired as to Kathe's color formula- which Kathe shared in a New York minute!  Kathe is not simply a stylist, she is an artist with an incredible appreciation for the integration of texture, color and shape.
